About us

Dawsons Training Wales is a multi-award winning Rent Smart Wales approved training provider.

Established in 2018 our small team of three; Ricky, Naomi and Kate have a collective 53 years of experience within the property industry here in Wales to share with you.

Our growth and recognition as an industry supplier over these first five years - from having sold our first course in 2019 to collecting the most prestigious supplier award at the EA masters event in 2023 has exceeded our expectations and reinforced our commitment and understanding of the industry as a whole.

Having worked day-to-day within the rental industry we have first hand knowledge and experience of working through the implementation of, and subsequently with, the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 giving us a unique perspective on the practical workings of these changes within a lettings agency thus preparing us to train both landlords and agents in a manner that we feel no other training provider has been able to date.

----

Since 1st October 2016 both self-managing landlords and letting agents who deal with managed property in Wales must also become licensed with Rent Smart Wales (RSW).  RSW are the Authority who issue licenses to both landlords and letting agents here in Wales. In order to obtain a licence you must have completed training with a RSW Approved Training Provider - this is where we can help you.

Accessing our online training portal is the quickest and most convenient way to become Rent Smart Wales Certified. In fact, most people sign up, complete the learning and receive their certificate on the same day. Priced from £23 + VAT, it's also the most cost effective training option available.

There are two learning options, depending on if you're a landlord or letting agent:

If you're a Landlord

If you are a landlord with privately rented property which is let out on a domestic tenancy in Wales you are legally required to register with Rent Smart Wales in order to comply with the law.

Domestic tenancies are Standard Occupation Contracts under the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016.

If you carry out management activities at your property you must apply for a Rent Smart Wales Licence or appoint a licenced agent to conduct letting and management activities at the property on your behalf.
